Since Russians love fucking with government computers in Europe what’s gonna happen government offices in places like Germany switch to Linux? How will the free community cope with the entire Russian secret service devoting their time to making Linux exclusive spyware/ransomware/malware? Are they hoping for state backed donations to OSS cybersecurity teams? I’m pretty sure a bunch of autists here are already sitting on some distro’s vulnerabilities so I don’t think it would be that hard for the russkies. Part of the perks of Linux is “being safer because of low adoption and open source code making it easier for everyone to spot a problem” which we know is not true and more likely than not being OS allows for malicious actors to spot access points instead of otherwise.

Well I guess this isn’t just about Russians (probably the Chinese too). But what I mean is that there are countries who’s intelligence agencies are dedicated to breaking into government pcs in America and Europe, and Europe adopting Linux just sounds like an incentive for those people to create more vulnerabilities that wouldn’t exist before. There’s no reason for the FSB to break into your arch desktop but there is a reason for them to break into the eurocrats freshly installed Linux mint.
