still waiting for firmware update for the 8bitdo so i get to use gyro and all the buttons on it on the steam deck.

Trust GXT 541. You can just flex it to press buttons or engage the analog triggers but it was only 23 Eurodinars.

I used to buy these knockoff 3060 wired controllers but they alway break within a year. Sticks drift to unusable levels, buttons start sticking almost immediately, etc.

I started investing on slightly better chink controllers. I'm using an Easy SMX now, and I have a Gamesir ready to go if this one breaks.

I got one of those cheap 8bitdo wireless controllers and it's excellent, other than the battery life being not very impressive. The zero deadzone hall effect sticks are a nice feature and the button feel is almost exactly the same as how I remember xbox one buttons feeling. And to me the all-injection plastic shell without any grippy rubbery shit is actually a good thing. Very happy overall. The available colorways all look bad though

As long as you don't shit stain it clean it properly with isopropyl alcohol cotton swabs Q tips etc. you can use a soft pick to get skin and gunk out the side. These controllers are more fragile than they appear do not drop them. My asshole stoner buddies kicked them around and got grease all over them cause they are dipshit ass motherfuckers who take dabs off a plastic keyboard like the crackheads they are
Just keep them away from stoners or smokers who don't stay clean. This one guy grabbed my controller for 5 minutes then gave it back and it smelled like he didn't wash his hands for fuck all. The resin is the worst shit to get stuck to your hands. Otherwise they are some of the most ergonomic controllers I've ever used next to the beloved and coveted GameCube controllers. Don't be the guy with the third party controller, like how would you git good?

dualshock 4 with 4 back buttons for wow.
normal dualshock 4 for everything else.
ergonomics and buttons on dualshock 4 are the most comfortable ever. if only the sticks had lighter springs. switch pro is more comfy in that way.

Any controllers with touchpad worth recommending for steamlink/ppsspp tv gaming?
Internet is flooded with current thing (dualsense) and third party controllers like datafag posted above are hard to find. To make things worse i have found reviews mentioning fake touchpads so Im getting paranoid.

Touchpads aren't common. I'd say either Sony/Steam controllers, or whatever OEM model's used for Fantech Nova Pro WGP14v2, IINE Bastet, and probably some other controllers.

8bitdo ultimate 2 wireless, best controller ive ever used. feels basically identical to an xbox controller, hall effect sticks, always at full battery because of dock, automatically and instantly turns on and connects when you pick it up, and there are independent switches to turn one or both triggers into click hair triggers which is cool for certain games. only thing i dont like is the stupid extra buttons on the back which serve no purpose other than you can map existing controller buttons to them for some fucking reason. manufacturers really need to stop trying to make them a thing, nobody needs buttons underneath the fingers you grip the controller with.
