Anybody else have anymore cool image codec comparisons like this where you see many quality levels being tested and get access to the files to inspect yourself? Also how do you use jpegli on windows? I don't see it as an option in GIMP and I'm not good at CLI.

I never said I wanted to use Webp thoughbeit. I'm looking forward to converting all my normal JPGs to jpegli ones.

Alright so as promised I'll discuss Jpeg XL here. It's basically the successor to the old JPG image format that's been optimized to align with human cone cells so it ends up representing human vision better than other image formats.

However the benefit doesn't stop there because in addition to this it's backwards compatible with existing JPG images via lossless recompression. So you save like 20-30% file size with 0 quality loss.

Sadly it hasn't gained much adoption because it's rumored that google sabotaged the whole thing despite being a key player in it's creation.

Yeah but jpegli isn't too far behind making webp adoption pointless unless 10kb lower file size reduction is that important to you.

I will admit that webp's ability to encode transparent images with lossy compression is still something people might be interested in which even jpegli lacks.

This. The OP is one of the bots of Daiz who is behind every WebPiss and Tel Avif shill post and has multiple shill threads up at any time.

Are you sure? I mean jpegli looks good in OP's test. I would just use that desu.
