Just use Windows 11 mate. Leave the cult. Once you find yourself picking a GPU for troonix, rather than it’s own merrits, it’s gone too far.

Oh, who are you going to buy your video card from sweaty? An anarcho-syndicalist commune of free hardware hackers?

why limit yourself to a certain type of os? Just get the best GPU you can afford and use Windows.

AMD for sure. NVIDIA cards do work provided you use the "open" proprietary nvidia drivers but there's always a headache somewhere.

AMD work out of the box. NVIDIA could also be used if you absolutely needed it but it sounds like you don't need that.
Anonymous No.105924107 [Report] >>105924149
AMD works out of the box on any Linux. Most sensible distros will pick out NVIDIA drivers for you.

I don't think you posted it enough times. Could you post it 10x more times?

Nvidia cards have been great for the last 15 years, in my experience. Simply apt install nvidia-driver and reboot

when using HDMI it hanged few times on switching between text mode virtual terminal and graphical (kernel shows some timeout errors)

which models are most stable?
in past I had problems with AMD too (broken colors, some random color palette in some situations)

in future we will have open hardware video cards
for now, this is solved for the software part

Nvidia, if you want to actually do anything with it (3D stuff, games, CUDA, whatever).
AMD if you want to run gayland.
Intel can sorta do both, and honestly would be a better bet than AMD for actually doing things except that Intel may be finished so there's a risk.
>OpenBSD
Doesn't support Nvidia proprietary driver, so Intel if you want to do things, AMD if you just want to have a graphics card for reasons.

you'll never be allowed open powerful hardware that can be weaponized somehow. get fucking real and stop dreaming. we're in a theater play, if you really think this is real you risk having a mental breakdown when the illusion shatters. everything is fake and ok a little bit less gay these days but still gay enough.

I had some issues with Nvidia when I tried out Mint, but I had a crusty old pascal card, newer cards might work better depending on the distro. AMD is generally much better supported though.
No issues after switching to a 9070 XT, but it takes a while for some distros to update and get support for newer hardware. I'm using Nobara since I'm a retard and just want to gaym with zero effort, and wanted something that's pretty up to date.

i've run linux on 4 different computers with different hardware and had to work extra to make everything function each time. it has been pretty much a dice roll for me because with 3d and video editing some software doesn't jive with certain driver versions so you may need to do your homework. i can't say much for games because i don't play that often

In the future, you won’t ever see the hardware you “own”, let alone get a loicense to create ASIC designs.

i use AMD Radeon RX6600
i think even newer ones should do fine, but do your research before buying one
i do not have any problem with this GPU, as it is supported by the linux kernel on arch
maybe you'll need to install the linux firmware amd radeon package
because when i uninstalled this package, my GPU wasn't working properly, idk

ah, and i forgot to tell you
be careful to not use an old kernel, like debian would use, i guess
