The endgame for China is full automation. They are installing robots at a crazy rate. They will probably surpass even Korea in 2-3 years. And not just stationary industrial robots, they ramping up production of mobile humanoid/dog like robots heavily too, they can probably churn those out by the millions per year by 2030, just like what they're doing with EVs. Their demographics are bad enough that they have no choice but to move fast on integrating robots and A.I into every part of their infrastructure, economy and society and race towards AGI ASAP. They cannot survive without it, due to their horrible demographics.

I do wonder how an economy would work in a extremely automated economy, your production would be immense, but how to create demand? How to deal with mass unemployment? How to put up the immense capital needed to fully transition? Without AGI, how useful would narrow A.I be on humanoid robots at dealing with real world challenges like tilting a field?

I mean it's a legit issue. China is already having issues with excess production, creating demand is a problem in a fully automated economy. The only solution I can think of is AGI

youre actually retarded
china doesnt need a pyramid scheme style population chart, they had their baby boom and spent it all on eco and now when the population drops there will still be enough microwaves and houses and hair driers because they have machines doing 90% of the work
>excess production
no normal person has ever complained because their car or stove or toothbrush was too cheap or didnt provide enough profit for the manufacturer
>fully automated economy
not possible, and not happening anyway. china is automating the low skill shit and the dangerous shit. again no one is complaining
>agi
again not happening, and anyway china already acts as if they have a perfect agi

That is true of "I can't breed: the country" aka South Korea at least. Thats one of the big reasons of automation being so huge there.

SK doesn’t have China’s A.I industry, their software sector sucks in general. Also they can’t do mobile robotics as well as China, they don’t have a company like Unitree for example

not my chart, and its misleading/outdated anyway
data is from 2023, china is scaling faster than anyone else so the bars would have different proportions anyway
also it only looks at individual robots (as in a small robot to screw in one screw is counted as the same as a 15 step stamped sheet metal machine), and its per employed capita. china notoriously has a much higher population and also a higher employment rate than south korea.

Ironically an advantage if they go full automation. A lot fewer unemployed minimum wage workers to cause trouble

In case you didn't know, the 1929 crash was caused by overproduction. Whenever production exceeds demand, companies go out of business and unemployment rises.
As of 2025, China's fertility rate was 1.02, i.e. below the replacement rate. Their population is already shrinking while production is increasing. Even worse, even if fertility rates increase, there will be a shortage of labour, and the labour force will have to support a much larger elderly population.
Automating low skill shit is not enough when half of your entire population is over 60. There won't be any labour.

Everyone knows that the engame of automation can only be UBI and free time to fuck and multiply. But the chinese communist party is socially conservative to a hillarious degree and will never allow it.

China is going to collapse because they have 1.5 billion people and they will have only 1 billion people by the end of 2100.

They need immigrants from India and Africa and Muslims who are quickly breeding like USA and Europe if they want to survive.

>companies go out of business
every business in china that is worth keeping around is state owned. in other words every company that can go out of business and cause issues from that will never have the chance to go out of business
>unemployment rises
ok? but then you talk about how the population is dropping and there wont be enough people to do.. what? be unemployed?
>low fertility rate
true, happening to every country. i think what people dont realise is that a ton of chinese families moved abroad (im sure youve seen some irl) and as time goes on they will emigrate back to the homeland (already happening, google "chinese reverse brain drain". the reasons why chinese researchers are going back will be the same as the ones that make families go back)
>shortage of labour
check the thread, retard. everyone here is saying that automation is the future
>har har only low skill shit
ok sure, lets assume this is true. low skill shit is still a very vast chunk of the employment pie. have you seen any charts showing industries where people are employed? what % of the population works in an office? or a warehouse? or on a mining site or as a delivery person? most of these jobs will be vanishing very soon

this is just the beggining, industry is scaling and improving not in a linear fashion, this number will grow a lot in ways people never expected, automation is the new way of doing things.

just like celphones were not that popular in no time they became the n°1 machine of all... the growth in celhpones and later smartphones was exponential, not linear, expect that in more 10 years this might go to 5000 per 10employess
