I thoroughly enjoyed the GNUtella network. Perhaps learn about and emulate features from that.

>start understanding
Literally all is a grift. Cryptocurrency can be good (XMR), NFTs got a point (digital ownership, not investment) but web3 simply isn't a thing and it can't be forced.
>contributing to Web3
Impossible because see above
>contributing to decentralized
Decentralization was and is possible without web3. The easiest example of decentralization is torrenting which has already been available in the 90s.
>Exactly what should i learn?
Focus on XMR if you desperately want to learn about cryptocurrencies. 'Breaking Monero' is pretty great. For decentralization learn about basic network infrastructure and how projects like Tor, I2P etc work, their pros and cons, if you wanna go far also the attacks possible on them and the ones that were performed.
>python
Irrelevant for pretty much all tech products, especially anything that isn't a poc.

It's not a thing at best and at worst a crypto scam.
If you want an alternative to the current web then create an alternative to WWW, keep corporations and capital outside of it and disable or remove features that shit up the current web like SEO, Ads, ability to transact money, etc
>decentralized
It's impossible. the best thing you can do is to have everything centralized except for media or large filesized items that can be uploaded or downloaded through torrent protocols.
>i wanna hear real advice
Everyone and their mother including jeets know networking and programming better than you ever will. Either start webhosting or think outside of the box for something unique
