i have one of these. whenever the power goes out i have to re-mount it in windows 7 before i can use it again in linux. might have something to do with the fact that i partitioned the drive in windows 7, but still. this is the only drive i have to do that with. i don't even have to remount my windows 7 drive itself.

this thing is more trouble than its worth, and i don't know why i even bothered with NVME. sata is just so much easier to swap in and out.

you're a retarded newfag for lying blatantly and being an insecure and annoyingly schizophrenic newfag aka a subhuman aka a shabbos goy.

reddit didn't invent paragraphs.

trannies and glowies spamming that they did doesn't mean they did.

reddit automatically creates a paragraph for the user when the user hits enter once.

there's not a single archived 4chan post that was made by a reddit typer before trannies and glowfags started spamming reddit invented paragraphs.

therefore, reddit typing is when a retarded newfag like you habitually presses enter once for no reason because the retarded newfag bought the hoax that reddit invented paragraphs, think 4chan uses the same text editor as reddit, or emulate the reddit typers under the retarded delusional that reddit typers are oldfags.

why is a reddit typer a shabbos goy? because trannies and glowies brainwashed you and your ilk into reddit typing so they could make more money because a reddit typed post takes up less space than a readable post. if you still don't get it because you're a tech illiterate, servers and storage aren't free.

now kill yourself upon realizing you're a subhuman.

every time.

you retarded newfags didn't begin to reddit type on 4chan until after 1) the hoax "reddit spacing" aka "reddit invented paragraphs" was invented in 2012 by a phoneposter and spammed all over 4chan by glowfags and trannies in 2016, and 2) reddit in the mid 2010s removed markdown and replaced it with their current text editor which creates a paragraph for the user when the user hits enter once only.

if someone assumes 4chan uses markdown, his or her post would have two blank lines between the text, not one blank line like you're screeching about.

every single time you've spammed "reddit invented paragraphs" was when a thread had a post that put one blank line between the text.

in the mid 2010s, trannies encouraged redditors (You) to post on 4chan. that's why 4chan saw its biggest surge in traffic in 2015/2016 and the number of reddit typers increased exponentially.

reddit isn't the only website using markdown.

the reason you can't find a single archived 4chan post of you reddit typing before these events is because you're either too retarded to look anything up.(retarded newfag characteristic) or you know it'll expose you as a retarded newfag.

this is why you need to kill yourself.

as well as anyone else who is a mouthbreathing retard (you are one if you think reddit typing is a coincidence).

Going based off if the mass exodus from Digg, hereโ€™s an explanation from 2013 of how reddit newline breaks work: https://www.reddit.com/r/help/comments/1vjfm9/how_do_i_insert_a_blank_line_between_2_lines_of/
Honestly I would say at the time that Digg still had a bigger influence so if anything Diggโ€™s posting format was a larger influence overall on the internet around that time.
That and SomethingAwful if youโ€™re feeling really nostalgic.

What are you talking about. An old LSI HBA can run a lot of drives. I think my old one can run 128 drives and runs fine on pcie 3.0 4x.
I could add another shelve and have 72 drives on one cable and it would run fine. It's just my backup system with old drives.

What RAID config are you runnin?
Is it TrueNAS?
I just sold my 22TB HDD's to buy more u.2's since I have xeon scalable servers with hot swap U.2/U.3 backplanes that pack 12 drives in 1 U
For the house, I run RAIDZ1 of 3x 8TB U.2's
For this streaming site I am starting, it's RAIDZ2 of 6x 4TB U.2's since random iops is more important than total capacity and if it takes off, I can add more in the empty slots.
Probably gonna run Intel GPU's for media encoding.
Pic related is the old version of my current server stack

It is an LSI 9211 8i that runs it. The server's hardware is more than 10 years old. There is an adapter in the case for SFF 8087 to 8088. One SFF 8087 cable to the adapter, one SFF 8088 to QSFP cable to the Netapp shelve and the shelves can be daisy-chained with one QSFP cable.
It runs three sets of 12 3 TB disk raidz2 on Arch Linux. I had only very bad experiences with TrueNAS.
My main server runs 6 20 TB HDDs with raidz and 2 2 TB NVME ssds for cache and special metadata vdev. It also has an Intel Arc A770 GPU for transcoding and encoding. Putting the metadata on SSD and a generous cache makes the system very fast and responsive while having a lot of storage from the HDDs.

swappin from m.2 to u.2 gained 10% FPS @4k
would like a breakdown, but I had it sittin around and didn't want to buy a 4TB m.2

I engineer and sometimes build enterprise solutions professionally, and always considered making videos so faggots could like favorite and subscribe
long story short, RAM and fuckin LOTS of it makes ZFS fast
Cache helps maintain speed after reboots but uptime is king.
My home server runs NVME storage and 768 GB of RAM and that bitch saturates it's 100 gig uplinks
That's only DDR4 2933 ECC
The last NAS we built professionally was an EPYC 9354, 24x 20TB HDD's, and 384GB of RAM
The client can edit 3 streams of 4k directly on the NAS

Used E5 Xeon CPU with ECC RAM in quad channel and Chinese motherboards on desktop chipsets
CPU + RAM + motherboard on pic costs about $110
It's 14 core CPU with 35mb L3, AVX2 support, 3.2ghz on all cores

>E5 Xeon CPU with ECC RAM
I did a study and found anything older than Xeon Scalables cost more to run annually than to upgrade.
EPYC is way more efficient across the board, but way more expensive as well so it doesn't balance out til like 5 years of 24/7 use

Not true, Intel specifically has stagnated and even gotten less efficient since 2020
AMD has rocketed ahead in efficiency and increased their power cap at the same time.

This is how a single EPYC Turin can replace 8x E5 processors or 3-4 Xeon Scalables
