45C when idle. Ridiculous. I don't even know how to cool them down. And I haven't even started copying anything, I'm afraid they'll reach 50C plus and overheat.
Also, this is how my setup looks like. I don't even know where to fit and fix a couple of fans near the hdds. It's a HP Z420 workstation, maybe it's not designed for hard drives and I should find a better desktop.
You gotta change the oil man, that's why we call these things "spinning rust". Or you know stop being a fucking hoarder and use AV1 already. There's nothing to gain by preserving all the facial hair wisps of women in 4K res at 100 Mbps.
I'm not hoarding any of that, only things of sentimental value, artist discographies, dvdrips of classic and rare cinema, literature, instructionals, software, isos.
