Brave is proprietary (no reproducible builds and source code is 100% unrelated). Just use Librewolf + uBlock Origin + Violentmonkey and Linux Mint.

I really like Zorin, it was probably the first distro back in the day that I stuck with for a long time. Wish it were easier to replicate their theming on other distros, it looks clean as fuck. Nowadays I just wish it weren't so horribly outdated, they're still on 22.04 and by the time Canonical releases 26.04, they're probably still gonna use 24.04.

So what are rhe practical dofferences between linux distros? It seems like outside a few cases (like arch) the majority is just a different UI skin. Is there truly any difference between mint and ubuntu?
t. considering linux or macos since w10 is eol soon

Mint and Zorin is a case where it legitimately would make more sense to combine efforts. They both have the same goals, using the same base distro and both lack development manpower.

its a bit tricky to figure out the structure of your config. sometimes the options are a little weird and not that well documented, but maintaining is braindead simplle. I recently did an OS upgrade and it was the most seamless experience Ive ever had on any OS

mostly the package manager, its repos and default installed DE (UI). there are a few outliers but those are prettt niche

I wouldn't go full NixOS, just use nix as your main package manager for a while.

If you're feeling adventurous, home-manager.
