It wasn't until they had the nodes in like 2016(?) that Tor became fully compromised. Research to break it may have been before that point. They can also break all VPNs in a similar way, and with mirroring, I don't think any self-hosting can be truly anonymous anymore either. Mesh networks are the only way forward for true anonymity anymore, but there are far less tech savvy people in the current generations.

I think its still somewhat useful, since they'd still have to actually collect the data and hope it goes to all of their good nodes which in all honesty isn't very likely.
I'm sure a LOT of nodes are compromised but as long as you're not a literal international druglord there shouldn't be anything to worry about.

That is where you are wrong. They don't use Tor anymore, for years they have something harder to detect and harder to break. They let Tor alive so the CIA can make money selling CP and so the FBI can pretend to be useful by catching very easily the pedos who buy it.

Cheap backbone for secure p2p connections and poorfag-VPN usage. No need for DNS, NAT or any sort of IP. Plug in onion address, it routes.your TCP whatever over Tor, direct to your server. CGNAT/filtering/censorship be damned.

Most of my devices have an onion address that points to a telnet daemon. Some nigger steals my ECU tuning laptop? I can telnet into it no matter where it is. No attribution or back-hacking risk like with an SSH reverse shell.

and yet this magic compromising has not happened, as shown by feds having to rely on poor opsec and on things unrelated to tor itself to catch any criminals using it, despite having broad support from international law enforcement and five eyes
there are more people running nodes on their own than the government and it keeps increasing, and the government is too shortsighted to pay more money for nodes when other people are doing it for free
the "compromising" schizos talk about is the most improbable and high cost method of deanonymization and has literally never been used as the basis to expose anyone without other software level exploits and 0 days

Yes because every federal agency would rather announce "YO WE CAUGHT DIS NIGGA CUZ WE OWN DA NODES XDDDD" and scare literally every single person out of the network instead of picking off a target then writing whatever retarded nonsensical reasoning later.
It's super magical how every single major website owner always get caught by "poor opsec" huh? How long have been people playing this game with some popularity, almost 15 years by now? And they all the big players end up having "poor opsec" and learn nothing from the others before him? Yeah right.

yes? these people that become "big" players inevitably develop an ego about it and think they're invincible
your delusions about fed competency are just that, delusions
the government isn't some magic gigahackers that know everything and you should just shut up and take it up the ass, they're incompetent lazy retards that will always pick the easiest path to looking good for the media(catching retards with poor opsec)
it's like saying for how long do people die of "old age" we should have figured out a solution by now
the only thing that can deanonymize you in 99% of cases is poor opsec

>This major drug dealer with who's been hosting a fucking darknet ebay for 5 years with no downtime while moving millions of dollars? Yeah he accidentally logged on his work account and sent a email to his mommy containing his location and a database with all his passwords, why do you ask? That's very common in the wondrous world of the internet!
>What do you mean if he was this retarded other people would've figured his shit out first? Nah you're delusional!

>people are magically supercompetent robots just like in my action movies and they never make mistakes or brag about things
yes people are that retarded
you would know this if you had actually interacted with anyone in charge or in a position of power, everybody will make a mistake eventually and mistakes cost when you want to run a drug dealing website
you, the average user, can only be anonymized by doing equally retarded actions and your threat actors are not 5 years of monitoring by federal agents

basically, saying you don't believe it is not an answer, because that is literally how most people get caught
they, like you, think that tech will magically stop them from exposing themselves but humans are always the weakest link in security

Please link me a single case of a fucking darknet marketplace showing up through nepotism you fucking retarded nigger, people in "positions of power" are usually retarded because their daddy was the owner of the company and he inherited the post.
>you, the average user
Why would they track average people? Calling it compromised doesn't mean that they are spying on literally everyone, just that they can because it's fucking trivial to do when you have their budget.

nigger are you illiterate or underaged or both
people in charge, meaning people running things in companies like managers or self-employed people, get arrogant and develop an ego the longer they do it
they might be very good at running things but they do slip up eventually and make mistakes
the guy let it get into his head that he was evading the feds for so long
>why would they track average people
why are schizos saying that tor is compromised then? do you useless tards think you're being monitored for saying nigger? if YOU are not tracked for 5 years by 10+ governments for trading millions of dollars worth of drugs and make shitty opsec mistakes you won't get deanonymized
>just that they can
they cannot, we are talking about reality and not your hopes and dreams
>because it's fucking trivial
it is not, despite tech illiterates insisting that the government can just "work things out"
>to do when you have their budget
which they dont and never will because they have other priorities
we are talking about things now as they are in reality, in which tor is a perfectly adequate way to anonymize yourself and the average user will never be exposed

OS spoofing was removed years ago on the grounds that websites could track users through basic JavaScript and CSS thus GNU users pretending to be Windows users stuck out more than simply stating their own OS.
