desu its very misleading because they always reported Worldwide stats that are still 4%. Recent ChromeOS announcement must have affected those stats for USA somehow.

Red Hat shills will try to spin it into massive success for Wayland and other garbage introduced in past few years but the reality is that any progress in recent years can be attributed to Valve involvement and Windows downfall. Fuck RH.

I do believe Linux share on desktop computers is rising but I don't trust statcounter all. For Finland it claims that linux is at 23,64% and that last december it was at 4,2%. Not reflected by reality

Linux in India is used mostly in institutions. They enforced it there so it doesn't really count.

Only 7% of the US population is *any* kind of Asian. For the Indians to make that kind of impact they'd all have to count as using Linux 2-3 times.

Also, fun fact. Despite being less than 3% of the population Indian men account for nearly half of the software engineering positions. Think about that next time you never even get a rejection letter after filling out a job application.

TRVTH NVKE.

Absolutely. The 'Eck (which you put your 'ick on) is the major reason Linux is upticking. People are seeing they can play 90% of games and avoid the shitpile that is PajeetSoft 10 and 11.

Everyone say thank you to Gay Ben and Vulkan.

I just tried running aliens vs predators in heroic games launcher on linux, doesn't work. Also jet set radio doesn't work.

How is this better the windows if it doesn't just work with one click?

I'm probably more experienced than 90% of people on linux.

I tried installing lib32 vulkan libraries, tried different proton GE version, tried steam proton versions, tried with winetricks GUI in heroic to install DX11 dlls, pretty much all redists. Disabled mangohud, gamemode since its running in flatpak, gave it permission for gpu acceleration, shared memory.

I bet on windows it would work with one click.

Now 20 minutes+ and still not working. This is why people don't use linux, and no I'm not going to buy the game on steam.

Valve is the driving force behind Linux gaming getting better and better. You either use Steam and get that "one click" or you tinker endlessly trying to be a contrarian faggot.
>I bet a program specifically tailored for Windows would easily run on Windows
Such an impressive and intelligent take, you clearly know these things better than 90% of people.

When 7 was around I tried Linux once and went back.
With 10 I flip floped between LTSC and Linux.
With 11 I'm never touching Windows again.

White first world countries have over 17% Linux usage while mixed, brown and black third world countries like Africa, United States and India have 15% or less. Is the reason Americans and other third worlders being so poor? Or shit drinking water full of chemicals? Or food full of chemicals? Or violence?
