M8 it's doable if you do some overtime, being on call or work in specific positions, not talking about doing management + tech lead, just become unavoidable at work, cybersecurity in companies or legacy systems maintainer, being a consultant rarely works out (both for an SSII or independently)
There's also the fact that end year bonuses and such can get you to 100K or even more per year if you're in a big company
They've become more okay with paying people in tech but historically it's seen as a business expense not an investment to pay well tech workers, that's just my 2 cents on it
