Better than what I have now. Have you tried it with a script a multiple inputs?
Good job.

Kinda handy, but why a random color when you could just the value of the byte to define the color?
Three bits for red, two bits for green, three bits for red.

because there's an unknown amount of bytes to render.

Surprised this hasn't been a common thing before. How does it handle bytes that are constantly changing?

think you could make the color palette editable and savable?
and apply a color to not just one byte but a sequence?

well, my goal isn't to make an app beyond a basic exercise for myself.

Hopefully some better coder than me, can make a real hex editor with my idea.

It just set a random color based on the type of byte, so it simply stores a dictionary when it loads the file and append a newer color if the byte is not on the list.

I'll make something better than this in assembly and XCB.

QT uses GLib? Warnings really look like the ones I get in my gtk app

nice.
>>105954400
this. also a gradient of colours for a range of bytes would be handy.
>>105953484
what the fuck does this mean? you know the amount of bytes. you've read the file?

>>105954354
it is.
