>>105954169 (OP) Had a coworker that bought one of these when they came out. >thought he was cool, on the leading edge >somebody called him a "glass hole" >and it stuck >everybody called him glass hole >talking to him was odd >you'd have eye contact then he'd sort of stare off, clearly fucking around with something on the Glass >it was subtle but once you saw it, it happened all the time >in project meetings or code reviews, people would say "no, those stay outside" >"but I left my laptop up on 17" >ok, but Glass stays outside
>>105957246 NPCs spying on you is cool now. We're on the brink of needing something similar to that Black Mirror episode to scramble your identity on any cameras looking in your direction.
>>105957246 >Apple launches their own take of it and no one cares It's also what would've happened if Apple released a literal clone of the google glass.

>>105954169 (OP) It was creepy. They even had that Latitude service at the time, where you could share your location with others and it would track everywhere you go. It was cool for a minute, but sucked when you tried it

this would have worked if it were apple google has the "ick" aura around them, which is what poisoned the idea to the public
>>105958243 Like Apple Vision was such a hit? Google made little to no attempt to hide the camera tho. Metas, you just look like a bellend in oversize Ray-Bans. This whole market will just get rayped by chinks flooding the world with $39.99 video glasses, there's no USP or barrier to entry.
>>105958354 Zombie era Apple, so akin to google. Jobs never would have greenlit those retarded ski goggles . he would have required it to either be >>105957365 or not exist at all

I think they planned to use these to get pics of everyone where they are and whatever but perverts and 4chan users started using them for gooning so they quashed them. So instead they put cameras to capture your face in front of every point of sale in every large company to collect data that way.

i thought these were pretty cool recently until i saw how you actually use them, and it involves looking up and to the right totally like a homo/retard. the guy demoing it looked like a retarded homo as well so it was even more amplified. totally ruined any cool idea i had of it
