Intel operated at 19Bn loss last year.
Why aren't amd chips taking over laptops yet?

Because OEMs tend to pick intel for their processors, and people who buy labtobs don't have much of a say when buying them.

Why would OEMs go for a company operating at such a loss?
I understand America/israel lobby has safeteynet for intel but the money flow doesn't look very good.

Long term contracts, bulk discounts, the CEOs railing each other's wives, etc.
I know for sure Dell barely even looks at AMD for their stuff.

AMD is a known to be a unrealiable supplier for laptop chips and the latest Lunar Lake CPU are genuinely good.

they will keep reporting imaginary losses until regulators allow Intel to be broken up and sold in pieces
and it'd be a disaster for tech

Intel is selling those laptop CPUs for rather cheap in bulk deals; having to sell their stuff for cheap is a big part of why Intel is losing money.

Nothing ever happens
Basically for something to happen, a lot of things need to happen in a short period of time, which never happens because nothing ever happens.

AMD has supply chain issues. Intel can churn out old sloppa faster and more efficiently.

do you look at each company that makes your groceries and only buy from profitable ones?

No, so why would laptop makers?
