Because just like retro futurism, tech minimalism, frutiger aero and co, these movements are fundamentally just another way to satiate a materialistic desire to consume.
They aren't creators, they are consumers, and there's a reason we call consumers the demand rather than the supply.

Because they only took the most shallow aesthetic elements of the time period, and actually understanding, reproducing, and adapting the mechanical engineering principles of the 1800s to create analog wonders would take effort and talent.
