Just venting here. A few months back, I started university, studying Computer Science. I got into C++ because it was the required language, and honestly, I really grew to like it. It's one of my favorites now. But then I hit a wall that made me seriously consider switching languages.
I've been on Linux for ages, and the thing is, C++ uses different libraries on Linux compared to Windows. This meant all the code I wrote for a video game totally crapped out when I tried to share it with my team. It was a massive pain in the ass. And Windows libraries are so much easier to deal with than Linux ones, it's ridiculous.
This whole mess has me wanting to jump to Java, since no matter what OS you're on, the code just works. Fuck proprietary code and Microsoft.
