I use Cachy os as my optimized distro. clear linux didn't really have a place

I enjoyed reading its benchmark numbers and imagining to myself I could justify buying a serious media creation workstation.

Good. All Linux distros that are not Kubuntu LTS, OpenSUSE Tumbleweed, or Fedora Kinoite are pointless. Kill them all. Maybe Artix and OpenMandriva can stay for being chuddy and Slackware for the nostalgia.

I think the idea was always to wind it down once those optimizations were incorporated into the linux kernel.
They will probably wind down their C compiler too. I think MS did to a large degree using the clang front end (and EDG front end)
