Pick a language that actually teaches decent paradigms, and doesn't just get things out quickly. C# and Java are great and gives you a lot of transferable skills to other languages. JS, PHP, Kotlin, Python, etc. IF you want to learn how to actually tell the computer what to do and have control over it then C/C++ but the investment will take much longer.

AI... I wouldn't think about it now. A lot of it involves statistical math and calculus to do from scratch which takes time away if you want to just learn to code. I'd say get to the level where you can build simple applications, has a front and back end, database, and APIs then you can at least leverage off of AI tech with REST APIs

Learn crud in local, learn the basics of databases and apply those to a DB instead of files
learn what http requests and shit related to them are, consume an api, create your own api to consume with your main app, deploy them in different computers or online so now you have to deal with cors among a million other things
Any language is valid but I'd say learning with Java is always ideal. You can even apply the shit you learn into android studio very easily. On top of that you can find incredible books and will force you to read documentation.

Computers are boring, try different types of programming/ml and do what you like. It should be like a game, otherwise it's almost impossible to do this shit. Just read few chapters from some book and switch to writing something for fun immediately. The ratio of reading books / tutorials / opensource / forums to actual programming should be like 0.1 to 0.9 or even 0.01 to 0.99.
