Just tried desktop Linux again in 2025 after being told "it's better now" for the 87th time.
First 5 minutes: I had to Google how to install a browser because there were 6 different package formats and none of them worked.
Wanted to install Zoom? Terminal. Drivers? Terminal. Changing my theme broke the UI in 3 places. Terminal to fix it.
Still no native Adobe apps, no proper CAD tools, no DAW worth using unless you're into 2006 aesthetics and jackd spaghetti.
Everything feels like a high school group project duct-taped together by people who rage at UX design.
But hey, at least I can rice my taskbar to look like a sideways Windows 95 start menu.
Meanwhile on Windows: double-click installer, done.
Linux is great... if you're a masochist with Stockholm Syndrome.
No wonder it dominates on servers but still can't crack 3% desktop market share lmao.
