Morons like you have also been claiming that Tor is backdoored for close to two decades now, with no shred of evidence at all. Unlike you, those protocols actually do manage to provide substance.

Backdoored or not, it’s not wise to trust it unconditionally.
This is the precautionary principle.

Always use encryption within the encryption, and use tor through hostile (foreign) government vpns.

As far as I can tell they purposely create problems for themselves when requresting information for smaller fish in the pond. Like conventional drug dealers or pedos or whatever. Then it becomes news that some three letter agency requested info that wasn't given. But obviously if the government really wanted to, they could either peer into Signal's databases or outright raid them if the circumstances are bad enough. Even then, Signal themselves have kneeled a few times and given requested info (at least partially) to the government.

At the end of the day, Signal teaches us one thing: the only way to truly stay anonymous on the internet is staying a small enough fish that they don't even care enough to expend resources on you. And even that is seeing it's sunset since Palantir is creating the Library of Babel of online information, and multiple-hundred-bullion dollar AI datacenters being able to monitor virtually all online activity.

they do this regularly, signal is intentionally designed to store as little about you as possible for this reason. IIUC its an obfuscated/hashed phone number, the unix millis when you created your account, and the unix millis when you last connected.

see https://signal.org/bigbrother/cd-california-grand-jury/ for an example response to a subpeona. this IS all they store or california would fuck them.

A while back, I decided to test out Briar to see if it would be a good choice of instant messaging programs. So I got one friend to download it, we both exchanged contacts over Matrix, and... we were unable to connect to one another on Briar. Perhaps it was due to the fact that I was using the desktop application and he was using the mobile application, but I don't see how that should be a problem in any capacity.

In any case, I've had good experiences with Matrix. Open source, doesn't require a phone number, does E2EE, completely decentralized, and works seamlessly regardless of what device you're using.

if one autistic Swede with 5 nodes can scoop up this, what can a state actor with massive funding and a lot more nodes do? The only reason it is functional for privacy in many cases (ie. illegal things like drugs) is because spooks need to have some legitimate traffic on the network in order to make it usable for their own purposes.

The public is only allowed access to the tor network because glow niggers and the US military want to hide their own communications through it. It's safe to assume it's compromised considering who owns it (and most of the nodes). Further more, most people access it through the provided browser based on Firefox. Which is just a horrible idea. But people that access it through shit like Brave are the biggest idiots of all. Since they're even more likely to be compromised via both the browser engine and the fact that they don't blend in with everyone else. The only thing I use tor is routing some non-browser traffic. I don't even buy drugs off it anymore (pro-top: The same people importing the cocaine to America are running all the markets. I hope you know who that is).

I just use threema. Made in a non-shithole, good standard, actually works.

Imagine being too poor to spend 5 euros on encryption (cause I know you're fucking retarded you can buy licenses in bulk, there's no association to the transaction with the license).

If it's free, it's your data they're selling, no matter what they may say.

I haven't seen or heard anything about their E2EE being cracked and it has been vetted many times. At that point if your worry is about the content of the messages, it doesn't matter that it's a centralized server

Glowies are already on me hard bro but I don't use my phone to communicate with people that glowies would be interesting anyway. I know my smartphone pozzed but I want to use the best of tech to make my life easier and it makes me laugh that gchq have to come through hundreds of porn videos every time I take drugs just in case I'm using porn to communicate with their enemies. My smart phone usage is pretty tame give a few drug deals.
