Why are Australia's software devs completely outsourced to India?

Australian banks moved a large amount of capability to India and Vietnam already.

All interesting and well paying jobs get offshored. You're not allowed to have that. You're only allowed to have shitkicker leftover jobs. Australia is extremely Jewish, housing prices, rents, markups on products that don't cost that much etc, etc. Its all about price gouging and price fixing, while cutting jobs as much as possible

Companies move them out and then move them back when shit goes wrong. It happened at my own company too, they were begging people they'd fired a year earlier to come back since the Indians were a disaster and the people tasked with talking to them were going insane from having to deal with them.

Things work a little different in Australia I guess. We kinda just say how we're feeling and in this case it was just flat out that the Indians hired were idiots, never responded, always tried to push work back and asked ridiculous questions they should know the answers to. Race didn't come up at all, it was just a frank "they're retards, we need to get a team here that know what they're doing".

Happens here too, it's like a revolving door more outsourcing, less outsourcing, more outsourcing, less outsourcing. Management keep falling for Indian projects that get shitcanned because they're shit. Philippines too not just India. Middle upper management is always looking for ways to get rid of jobs. But Indians and Filipinos end up increasing technical debt in these roles, shit is already a rube Goldberg machine when it works, then you involve Indians and you just piles of more work with very little return.

It's an odd culture. Very strong European cultural traits but with some of the more Americanised stuff (Dodge Rams, BBQs, hunting, football etc). BBQs have always been a staple though, so that's not some new thing and I think even the British have done BBQs for a long time too.

I've been to the US myself and there are similarities, but I wouldn't say we're the same or easily interchangeable. We don't have stuff like Walmart or those endless gas stations on highways like the US does for one thing, that's a purely American phenomenon.

It's a little different when that is in a city itself and isn't just a stop on the highway, which is what that picture is. When I was in the US, you could be in the middle of nowhere on a highway and there would just be this mass of places like that pic in the middle of nowhere, it was bizarre. I even found some place that was just a large building between the directions of traffic and the inside was just a giant food court of all the main chains.

The other weird thing is casinos, they seem to exist alone on some highways with nothing around them, not even houses. I came across a massive one when I was in Nevada and it was at least an hour in every direction away from any other signs of life, eve a fuel station. The US is a really weird place compared to here in that way.

yes we are on the brink of a complete productivity crisis because our government is packed with complete retards. A collapse in Australia would be a good thing purely because it would mean that we have an opportunity to kick browns, chinks and shit politicians out which would mean we could actually fix our natural resource export issue and make ourselves rich
It'll happen one day so don't worry

the good ones get on a plane and fly to the USA/Canada/Europe where they can actually make money and build a career. Private sector outsources everything, public sector doesn't pay competitive salaries and are full of no-hopers.

Trying to make it as a coder or tech is hopeless, IT here is all about making it to management so you can become a business analyst consultant spreadsheet jockey or professional jeet wrangler.

Still, driving through the desert and seeing nothing for 2 or 3 hours, then a random massive casino, and then another 2 hours of nothing is really jarring. We could easily fit some strange massive shit like that between Melbourne and Canberra or Brisbane and the Gold Coast, I'm not sure why we don't desu.

They're cheaper. So much cheaper that their worse product quality output is well outweighed by the sheer workforce provided for pennies on the dollar compared to Australian labor.

Certs are an annoying formality you breeze through after already becoming proficient in your own time. You should already know what you like and are good at. Solely going to school to learn cyber or dev is ironically a terrible idea and will get you nowhere. Your portfolio is a million times more important.
