If Linux is so good, can you leave your files like this inside a folder? Aka, disabling auto arrange and leaving it spread around inside the folder, as we can on the desktop itself?
>>105974695 I enjoy organising files by keeping similar files grouped together but still in the same environment. Windows 10 used to have this features, but Jewsoft removed it. Like a visual organisation
>>105974711 >keeping similar files grouped together this is called a directory my nigger. there's no functional difference between your stupid shaped groups vs a normal person's folders.
>>105974747 I have to click on the directory to see what is inside. My way, you can just see what's there. I also enjoy that I can keep variations of files based on the orientation of files. Also, you can keep variations of a file by simply putting files on top or below for organisation. All while you can have a visual representation of your project as a whole, all in a glance.
It's a pretty smart way of organising things, but since most people are retarded these days, they just don't see how useful it is.
>>105974687 (OP) I like the icons locked onto a coarse grid. Doesn't have to be a 1 to 1 thing, but having them be slightly off as in your pic is frustrating

>>105974736 you can enter "cmd" into the location bar to bring up cmd in that folder
>>105975347 >The built-in Open PowerShell window here context menu option, which can be accessed by holding Shift and right-clicking the folder in File Explorer. I'm not saying this completely fixes the problem, but it's better than the other thing
This thread only serves to prove how useless Linux is. Linuxhomosexuals like to brag about how you can customize everything, and it turns out, that was a lie.
>>105974687 (OP) >>105977475 OP and you are both retarded. This is possible and normal thing to do in Linux and was possible before Windows had it. Cope
>>105975347 >typing cmd is ten times as much effort as clicking twice is this why my coworkers are so fucking slow at using their computer because they think like this
>>105977802 Early Linux file managers for example in GNOME and KDE provided this functionality well before it was available in Windows. Nautilus had this 2001. Earliest Windows Explorer 2007.
>>105977475 No, the opposite. This thread only serves to prove how brain damaged and low iq the Windows and macOS users are. Linux has done all the features included this 5-10 years before than Windows or macOS. You are just coping with your shit Windows and macOS because you are cuckslave. Stfu and cope.
>>105978701 >GNOME Files says release date is 2001
you could free-move your icons even in Windows 3.1's Program Manager (though not in File Manager which only had a list view), which is dated 1992 here's a screenshot from a javascript-emulated win3.x because I can't be bothered to build a VM or real machine
>Windows Explorer 2007 Explorer started with Windows 95, in which you also could free-move your icons
