Is Firefox's sync data encryption provably true?
I kinda don't want to trust them blindly anymore.
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-firefox-sync-keeps-your-data-safe-even-if-tls-fails
everyone is trusted to a point, I trust mozillas browser enough to use it after hardening it. But I absolutely do not trust them to the point where I'd make an account and log into it and/or activate syc nonsense. I'd rather lose all my bookmarks than give mozilla anything.

firefox is neither the first, only, or last browser in existence. If thr company crashes and burns I'll switch to anything else. Lynx exists.
>>105977252that's kinda my point. I don't want to trust them. I guess I hoped someone had audited that part of the code and could tell others it actually didn't send any data to Pozilla.
they do claim to encrypt it so the claim should be challenged somewhat.
>>105977202 (OP)>their site doesn't have the fox logo in 2SLGBTQI+ colorsproblematic, disgraceful.
>>105977202 (OP)It's an open source browser. It would be stupid to claim sync data is e2ee if it wasn't the case. Besides, browsers have a thousand other ways to spy on you.
>>105977264>I hoped someone had audited that part of the codeTrust me I did and it is very much malware and will burn your neurons and turn you into a minority loving liberal. Just like systemd and wayland did.
