why do people lie through their teeth about amd drivers on linux?
if you want to use rocm you need the pro drivers and the pro drivers fucking suck
youre basically stuck to ubuntu lts (which to be honest probably wouldve used anyway so not really a problem for me) and they only update it when they feel like it
ubuntu recently updated its kernel to 6.14 and if youre on the amdgpu-pro drivers your updates are completely borked and you need to hold the new kernel
amd has got to be a reddit lie by people who do nothing besides gaming so dont notice or free software zealots (even though even the non proprietary drivers ship blobs) who are willing to overthink this kind of disfunction
