Can a chinkheld run even modded SNES roms just fine? rg35xx to be specific.I wanted to play Super Mario World romhacks and one in particular had updates sprite graphics but my old 3DS ran it so choppy. Do chinkhelds hold up when it comes to SNES games?

any chink handheld above $25 will run 16 bit just fine, no lag no screen tearing, nothing. They've gone a long way.

how come no one in the states makes cheap consoles like this, it's just a battery a micro controller and a cheap display in a case. How come only China can figure out how to make these things for $25 but no one at home can???

Nobody in the US wants to run the risk of a lawsuit. Namely copyright or anti-circumvention laws. Also, something about supply chains, probably.

I actually have that, works well with most games it's provided with, but some of them don't launch. i mostly used it for neo geo games which work fine. i never bothered to add new roms or change the OS.

the batteries on these things are so cheap that these turn into fire hazards very quickly. These handhelds have more reports of swollen batteries than any other doodad.
You're honestly better off buying a cheap Bluetooth controller for your phone. And the games will run better too.
These things chug trying to run PS1 games, you could emulate PS2 or NGC on your phone

I wish more the of reviews focused on the linux capabilities. Most of them ignore the OS outside of usage for games.

Literally not one thing in your post is true, but I guess you have to expect someone who plays games on their phone to be a fucking retard.

I own a bunch. The RG34XXSP is much better, especially if you prefer the GBA-versions of the games, as the buttons on the 34 feel much better to use.

You do need an USB-A to USB-C cable to charge it.

I have this, SNES should be fine.
>>105979674
Of course you can.
>>105980349
This is true. Anbernic refuses to make PD charging work properly so you need to use a USB A to C cable. When OPs model was released there were reports of melting and fire, so only charge it when you can be around to watch it. It's frustrating. Fixing the charging would literally cost about 10 cents.

They mostly come with an older ubuntu and vendor kernel. The reviewers are mostly clueless.

Even this fat boomer claims to use one to play sega games.

Getting something that can run EmuELEC will be cheaper. Pi is a bit of a rip off if that's what you want to do with it.
