How long should my phone battery last?
Anyone tell me how long their phone lasts between having to charge? Mine is a hand-me-down iPhone 6s Plus, just saw in the 'About' section "There is an issue with your phone battery"

It drains from 100% to 10% in less than 20 minutes of use, & even when inactive it will often go all the way to 1% battery. My mom reckons they do it on purpose to compel people to buy new version. Is it built in obsolescence?
Also asked someone what her phone plan was, she told me $50 a month for unlimited internet usage. I looked it up from her provider and it was $55 a month for 250gb, not unlimited.

I'm wondering all this because I need a good battery life & data plan so i can use the map feature when navigating on the road.
We're in Australia so it's basically a choice between Telstra or Optus

lithium batteries degrade over time
Apple was caught draining battery on outdated versions of iOS to make people upgrade.

It's a ten year old phone. You likely need a new battery. It shouldn't be expensive.

No. Apple was caught slowing down iPhones which had degraded batteries to keep them from randomly shutting down under high loads.

Mine used to last 2 days of regular use now down to 1-1.5, but I don't think they make phones with such high capacity batteries anymore.
My screen is all fucked up and burned out but other than that it works alright, I'm seriously thinking in buying the exact same phone again, but I don't think I can find it.

If itโ€™s a 6 itโ€™s genuinely in the realm of phones you can repair yourself if you have any confidence with really tiny screws

Damn I've been hoping their battery life would only get better over time. I'd like a phone that lasted an entire week before it needed charging.
Hopefully android or microsoft use extended battery as competitive edge in the future
