Oh they care. Just not in the way you think. Modern UI is specifically designed to be as terrible as possible. Its not incompetence, they know exactly what they are doing. It takes a lot of skill to consistently make it worse whilst still being somewhat usable.

I'll be honest I've dealt with people with major autism before and they are very shitty employees because they fail to see proper value per minute worked. You have autism with this very specific resolution and browser, but wait until you find out there's actually more than just one web browser and operating system.
