i think they're cool. that's the only reason i'm getting a flip 7.
i just use my phone to browse the web and watch youtube. i don't need ultra level power, especially since all the gachas i play have PC ports anyway.

Someone who wants both a phone and a tablet and would rather pay even more to have both in one device, on something inherently fragile.

The "clamshell" (Z flip, Razr) ones are okay and have some cool features, like being able to use the rear display as a preview for the rear cameras. I don't get the tablet-style ones at all, they're just dumb.

I think book style foldables like the one in your pic are kind of a meme, more than a phone but less than a tablet and a square screen ratio when unfolded that doesn't really lend it self to media consumption and multitasking like a tablet would. I'd really like one for the novelty but could never justify paying so much for something so fragile and, to me at least, subpar.
Flip phones like the razr are immediately way more enticing as they can basically be used closed like a compact early 2010 smartphone. I'll get the flippy of the year when my S20 becomes unbearable to use.

I think they're perfect for emulation since their inner screens are near 4:3.

"flip" style foldables are totally pointless. They just get twice as thick which doesn't help it fit in your pocket. You do get all the drawbacks though:
>expensive
>Very bad battery life
>Very fragile
>Slow charging
>worse cameras
>always have to open it for normal phone usage

"Fold"s on the other hand offer something significant, a tablet in your pocket and a normal phone without unfolding. You can get a normal size phone battery. Is it worth it? Not really, but you get something at least.

The !notTablet thing is completely useless, too small for a prober tablet and too fat for a proper phone. Also the screen wears out faster than other phones.
Flip on the other hand is super cool, I'm getting one after my current phone dies. Compact(as phones should be, no one needs fucking shovels as portable computing devices) and the act of flipping it out/in just feels physically pleasant.

You can just say you can't afford one. Nobody who has the money to buy these really cares about the nonsense you just waffled on about.
