Other than Sec+, are their certs even useful these days?

Sec+ is only for government positions. Fuck comptia and their gay ass labs for cert testing. Beyond that the books associated by third parties for ITF+/Tech+/Net+/A+/Sec+ are great for education sake and general IT knowledge. Beyond that for jobs after sec+ go after specialized certs.

Why sec+? Infosec is full. A cert will never compensate for a lack of field relevant experience. When it comes to entry level, you could never hold a candle against someone with a full on infosec degree(like me). Why not change to trade? I'm pretty sure they have certs too

a+ is a joke. if you got the a+ certificate congrats you can join the pc building thread but thats about it. There are no real certs for repair.
