gentle reminder that in modern music:
- most of the artists digitalize their shit right after the microphone
- digitalization done right beats analog recording
- it's easy to do high quality digital recordings
- with digitalized samples the only thing that audiophile equipment (valves n shit) does is to smooth out the audiowave
- smoothing out waves is just adding "noise that sounds good". still noise though.

TLDR: audiophile equipment is a scam for retards who don't know RF electronics.

electronics engineering, working on RF atm
yeah i don't understand why but there is an insane amount of people calling themselves engineers despite being electricians/programmers/niggers/jews/etc

are you stupid nigger aware of the fact that recordings can be fully analog?
almost no one does that, but that's also why audiophile niggers brag about their shit so much

You can be happy with $20 headphones and a phone and a portable Bluetooth speaker
There is no need to climb higher unless you want to. Being an audiophile is adjunct to being a musician and playing with your electronics to get a different sound.
You can be happy being a budlite drinker not everyone should reach for a $200 whiskey.
I will say this it comes down to tiny differences and it can really pay off when you go the extra mile to squeeze an addictive sound out of something.
Digital is basically analog but that’s not what we are arguing about here.
You are arguing your China slop is the same as a dedicated designer that tests and improves his products over decades and has the knowledge to get every last bit out of his designs. It will never be comparable.

no, desu i was really arguing about properly designed ADCs vs properly designed analog stuff
because of course if you pay few grands for an IC you'd get some good shit whatever technology you have...

>You can be happy being a budlite drinker not everyone should reach for a $200 whiskey.
the analogy is very nice. but fits the chink shit vs expensive comparison

I see so this is my two cents on analog vs digital.
Super high end moving coil systems in the thousands of $ range can have an almost artificially big soundstage and this can sound decent on super expensive systems but it’s sort of artificial sounding as well.
Digital audio is essentially analog and people make too big of a deal over things “sounding digital”
Things like gain stages and power supplies and dealing with noise from components interacting with each other introducing noise have more of a difference between sound signatures than switching a dac chip does, there are very slight differences between dac manufacturers sound signatures. Floating point digital sounds the best but they don’t often use those chips outside of expensive audio equipment where that level of precision is needed when adding filters to sounds during the music production processes.
So in conclusion we are dealing with small differences and there isn’t one solution that is actually better. Vinyl due to its short comings can never be the best solution for delivering sound but cartridge manufacturers have found a tweaked sound that some audiophiles can’t get enough of, if you don’t mind the fact that artificially large soundstages thin out the bass and create a sort of reverb like distortion that is barely audible. This is the secret that audiophiles are trying to convey to you. Tubes seem to add to this reverb effect as well and make the bass sound tubbier and fuller so they are often found in the moving coil setups because the flaws complement each other.
Digital when it finally learns how to cater to audiophiles will easily be the best solution for delivering audio, there are fewer flaws in the DAC than a spinning table with surface noise and bad pressings and all the other variables that come along with it.
Digital is essentially analog, 24 and 32 bit digital is almost indistinguishable to an analog system.
So it really does come down to your equipment

Audiophiles are not the purity of sound people that they profess to be, they enjoy specific distortions and sounds to their music just like guitar players swapping the drivers on their guitar cabinets do to get specific sounds. Many of them don’t really understand what they’re doing and talking about but they still through trial and error find things that sound way better than the chifi slop and much of that is because of designers that DO know what they’re doing have done the equipment tweaking for them.

Chifi has the ability to be just as good but they are more concerned with getting things to market quickly and cutting costs and the size of their shipping boxes than they are concerned with delivering the best sound that they can.

There is no perfect audio system so audiophiles actually have the right idea of finding something that pleases you. If using a simple apple dongle into headphones pleases you then that’s what you should use. If pretending to be a soundboard guy at a concert with pro audio concert cabinets with massive subwoofers and soundboard in your living room that could deafen you if you turned it up all the way then you should do that.

It’s not a waste of money if that’s what you want to do.

The word you are clumsily seeking is, "digitize."
