Been thinking of giving up my boring ass iPhone and getting a Galaxy Z Fold7 before the preorder bonuses end, but Iโ€™m mostly concerned about shitty battery life and apps not being optimized for larger screens

I wish they'd just make 2 separate screens like a nintendo DS and let you put 2 different apps on each screen. Microsoft made a phone like that once.

to do what? typing on phones sucks, it's still too small compared to paper documents or a proper monitor, and no other typical phone activity is better done at such a weird aspect ratio

tablets are a meme too btw, the only people that like them are retarded boomers who can't handle a real computer

>no other typical phone activity is better done at such a weird aspect ratio
Literally any phone activity is better at such a weird aspect ratio. Most apps scale fine to it. In fact I've yet to run into an issue with an app in tablet mode after 3 years.
>tablets are a meme too btw, the only people that like them are retarded boomers who can't handle a real computer
Yeah, having netbook sized screens for a phone for activities that don't need a keyboard is totally useless. Plus for the ones that do need a keyboard I have a keyboard. Just plop it in and the phone's now a netbook.

I had the fold 3 a while back
Mediocre battery life, the inner screen gave me migraines at low brightness because of pwm, and it was too heavy
Eventually the outer screen had issues and I got it fixed it via warranty

Pointless
Fold is just as big as the "normal" big phones nowadays, uncomfortable one handed when folded, and landscape videos when unfolded barely look bigger than when you open it on the front screen anyway, with huge ass black bars covering over half the screen, retarded
Flip's screen is just too small folded, unusable trash, you will ended up opening it every time, might as well get regular phone
I just want ONE thing, a foldable that is just as big as early smartphones' screen when folded, not too small like the flip ones, not too big like the fold one, but can be unfolded for bigger screen when needed
Huawei made one that is close to that, but they decided to put the outer screen on the camera side, so it ended up the same as the flips, unusable small ass square front screen
Sadly I feel like Apple will be the one to get things right AGAIN, when, if, it decided to make one

I have the 6 and am going to the 7. In my opinion the 6 is good but these were not ready for prime time until this latest model year (both for Samsung and other brands like honor and Huawei). The apps and stuff have been good for a while but the thinness and screen size were never going to do it for the average user until now.

I don't care about iterations
In case of the foldable acreen tech, it's the same shit packaged differently.
They currently are still no suitable materials to meet the demand resulting in the very same outcomes We know and see from all the previous models.

When you buy a foldable you're also accepting that the inner screen is a consumable. It's no different than your car's oil or brake pads. At some point, shit needs to be replaced. You accept that for the ability to brake, or in this case, the ability to unfold your phone into a tablet. If you can't accept that, get a normal phone.

Folding fag here, had a Flip 3, Fold 5, and now Fold 7.
This shit is improving at an insane rate. Never had any issues with durability, both previous phones were traded in at perfect condition. At least if you go Smasnug, you've got a pretty durable brick on you.

Fold 7 is interesting, it's basically just a regular phone now that also turns into this wafer thin, kinda weird looking but honestly kinda comfy square tablet. This thing is ~200px off from a perfect 1:1. Media consumption on the tablet screen is a bit shit now, but it was never amazing anyway. But it is crazy good for multitasking and games.

What's the touch sensitivity like across the fold, especially after a crease starts appearing?
You're playing a game, or dragging objects around and across the fold. Is there some momentary glitch in finger tracking? Or have they implemented algorithms that account for potential issues in the fold zone?

There's no capacitive touch layer on the crease area, unless that's changed recently. It's all predictive software. I've never noticed anything though, even with the s-pen. Whatever they're doing works.

I have a FLIP 4 and i love it. It developed little scratches all along the crease after like 6 months or something just from using it. Its annoying i guess but i love the flip more than any other non flip phone that ill just get another one if it breaks. Not being able to close the phone when im not using it seems old fashioned now. A refurbished flip 4 is just $270 on Amazon anyways. The flip 5 is $410 but i like the smaller front screen on the 4.
