>>105996103>god i miss gtk2 xfceYou can simply install Xfce 4.12 on Debian. Just add the Stretch/Buster repositories and Apt pin to prefer the older versions of Xfce. Might be easier to remove all Xfce (which includes Thunar, Xfdesktop, Tumbler, etc.), comment out the post-Buster repositories for now, install just the Xfce components from Stretch/Buster (some parts in Buster have GTK3, like Thunar, so install the Thunar from Stretch), make sure none of the 4.16/4.18/4.20/etc. libraries and such are there. Afterwards, configure your Apt pinning to never install anything from the current version of Debian you're using (once you uncomment that line).
Most people don't realize they can literally just go back to Xfce 4.10+4.12 on current Linux systems. So much so, I think a GTK2 continuation of Xfce is needed in a fork, like what TDE (Trinity) is to KDE 3.5.
