if you configure brave properly its far better than firefox without question, firefox gets slower and slower while more of the web is designed for chromium browsers. Configuring brave is far easier than making your own user.js also, many people use arkenfox without any overrides because they genuinely don't know better

Tried to make a blogger post on Brave yesterday, but it just had menus popping up randomly, and at the end, the upload didn't work. Disabling Brave Shield worked; Ublock never gave me these bugs.
I also wanted to send a specific media file on WhatsApp, but it gave a generic error in Brave, while it played perfectly fine on Firefox.

On the flip side, the web is faster; you can feel it, and so many bugs in my user scripts, some that I wasn't aware of because the behaviour was different before, are simply gone in Brave.

The customizability and UI of Brave is utter dogshit; it's pain-inducing. Also, cookies are always encrypted; you need to close the browser to extract them, and even then, it's hard to make it work (haven't so far, unique Brave quirks there).

On FF: Forks only. vanilla firefox is pretty bad at this point and can't be recommended in good faith unless you tinker with user.js/arkenfox. If you don't want to tinker use librewolf or mullvad, or if you're not as concerned about privacy floorp or zen.
