I mostly post on Youtube these days. Yes, Youtube. People there actually share their thoughts and experiences, sometimes useful and original ones even, without constantly resorting to name-calling and rage-baiting. Looking at /g/'s catalog makes me feel like this board is just bots, teenagers and trolls, so there's no point contributing to it.

I've tried Discord.
It's all the worst qualities of 4chan combined and amplified, with a mix of constant moral grandstanding and horrible memes added in.
I only use Discord for Japanese exercise on JP servers now.

I've thought about making one, but it seems like a nightmare in this modern era. First of all, the number of people who might be interested in joining a forum is exceedingly small, and they're all scattered across various sites. Secondly, almost everyone is a political activist now, and I'm beyond tired of those people infecting every community with their animosity.

Then you have to worry about ridiculously sophisticated bots, how to keep them out without irritating human users, and how to detect them. Oh and don't get me started about the potential for legal trouble if someone decides to spam your forum with illegal pixels. Again, you have to find ways to prevent that without making the forum unusable for everyone else.

For what concerns dangerous pixels, only allow external linking.

Bots are not much of an issue, just make it so that you need to post in a certain section a certain topic to be allowed in main forum.
