I don't understand how that can ever be considered helpful. It's not useful when I ask AI about some feature in a specific piece of software (which does not exist, the software never had this functionality not that I was none of the wiser) and it gaslights me into thinking it exists and trying all sorts of command line switches and config options none of which are real and do not exist.

In case you don't get what the writer means, he's saying that AI is not an encyclopedia with all the answers, it's for generating text. Not fact, but for fiction.

this. the only thing the model does is hallucinate, itโ€™s just that it frequently hallucinates the right answer, functionally by pure chance.
