Pardon my newfaggotry, but why is there no cybersecurity / hacking general? Isn't this a based imageboard for Stallman types who want to escape the matrix? How come the most popular generals are for corpo jobs and (((web development))) rather than pen testing, CTFs, or more black hattish things? Is /g/ a honeypot for FAGMAN recruitment? Why does everyone here's highest hope seem to be getting a job working for an Indian-owned advertising company? Where are the Mcafees and the Geohots? Why are troons the ones fishing up major zero days while white men trade tips on how they can get through HR roasties screenings so they can sit at a desk all day making money for Pranjeet?

because """"""cybersecurity"""""" is a midwit fake career field for retards, nocoders, and various other people who shouldn't be allowed near computers. in an ideal world free from retardation, developers and engineers would be force to skill up instead of enabling a parasitic industry of retards who just run scripts and consume products.

if you want more cybersecurity relating things to get into i recommend a big black dildo and some estrogen you tranny infosec faggot. you will never amount to anything nor produce any value for yourself nor community. we all laugh at you.

useless eater. fuck you. die.

The vast majority of people on this website have no idea how to hack anything

>why is there no cybersecurity / hacking general?
there used to be. there was the /hmg/ threads, back when maderas used to make them in 2017/2018. then he lost his mind and posting pictures of himself doing kickboxing and was amazed people worked out who he was and where he worked.

the /cyb/ generals have just been people bumping the threads with vaguely cyber/hugely purple tinted images for years. the pastas being regurgitated are old as fuck and a bunch of the authors of the links dont even work in sec anymore.

the shilling of oscp and infosec over the board in 2016/2017 was just a massive psyop by mutts to drive up demand for the cert before he sold it to the taiwanese VC firm. its now on its 4th sale and he left the scene years ago. pentesting is a commodity and those in the field know its just a job. we are glorified QA for the very same street shitters you mention.

social media at large, including imageboards move too fast for research to be presented and discussed. good blogs take days to properly chew on, digest and put into the lab. any general will be gone by then. a lot of infosec people unironically use linkedin because you can throw up a link to your latest blog article and itll percolate and circulate to the appropriate recipients.

You might not realise this but there's someone else on the other side of that screen and your words can be really hurtful to them. Please be kinder to people online

Breaking into other people's machines is how I learned how to properly secure my own. I rarely discuss the subject here because every time I do it's met with total RETARDS who insist that doing shit that could get them hacked is perfectly fine. It's like telling a toddler not to touch a hot stove. On the flipside you get people thinking you're larping as some kind of super cyber criminal when it's something you used to do for fun and a skill you keep in your back pocket for when you need it. You just can't win with that shit.

Everything on 4ch is superficial with no depth to it.
What you're looking for is simply not here.

There are some good things to be had here. I learned a lot from /g/. But you need to be prepared to spot all the dunning-kruger in action posts that flood the board. There are so many people here who are both loud and stupid. They will post endlessly about how their personal setup or workflow is perfection and yours is shit. I've learned to ignore them but that doesn't mean I don't tire of reading their drivel. It may sound like I'm putting myself on a pedestal and trying to elevate myself above all of /g/ but that's not true. I'm a lowly idiot compared to some of the people here. When I spot someone who genuinely knows what they're talking about it's usually pretty obvious. I've been chided for being wrong by people like this sometimes and instead of getting butthurt I learned from the experience. Some of the people here who never shut the fuck up would make this board a much better place if they did the same.

Nah every time some topic pops up that you have a bit more knowledge about you notice how little substance is there and especially people that are kinda home-schooled on 4ch, they just parrot nonsense they've seen here before.
For anything specific I use ruskies forums, their web still looks like western one ~10-15 years ago tho having to use translation tools is not comfy at all.
I haven't learned anything here.

When I learned things from people here it was always about highly niche things. Sometimes I'd be complaining about something and a total bro would recommend the exact solution to my problems. It's a different situation than the typical dumbass posts you see here like RETVURN TO WINDOWS 7 YOU WON'T GET HACKED BRO IT'S JUST FUD. You don't need to meme and shill your preferred solutions if they're actually so great. I actively distrust pretty much any post that uses 4chan meme speak to try to sell me something.
