All true but it's also the only one that does all the things I need. Some use it for mainly reading ebooks which is pretty lol

it's pretty staggering that there are zero programs that compete with Calibre

Itโ€™s unironically dogshit and I donโ€™t understand why no one has attempted to make an alternative, or why people put up with it.

The fact that it creates its own copy of files and directories instead of just directly editing existing files PURELY because the dirty jeet who made it is an autist is INSANE.

Foobar2000 edits my files without making copies, Calibre should do the same.

Is everything written in Python absolute slop? I've never seen a Python program that wasn't a slow piece of shit that inevitably throws out random type errors. It's so bad that they're rewriting their own basic tools in other languages (uv, ruff etc.).

I just wish that it didn't need to move the books to keep them organized. Breaks my torrents so I hate using it. It's easier to just jail break a kindle

It is jeetware but people will defend it because it's the only program for it's niche.

They definitely apply science to a product for the purpose of commercial use

Calibre actually works correctly and so, despite being developed by a jeet, is not technically jeetware.
