How do FOSS people manage their 2fa accounts? In my current situation I have both MS Authenticator and the Google one, I want neither, but obviously there is the convenience of syncing across devices.

I use Aegis because it is the best not because it is open source.

SMS is the most insecure form of 2fa.

Aegis
>syncing across devices
You have to export on one device and import on the other one manually every time you add a new account, but that shouldn't be too often. Automatic cloud backups are there too.

I use PASS Unix password manager for OTP with its plugin, I then have an app compatible with it in case I need it on my phone. Al sync to a git server from my house, or you can use GitLab or some sort. It's PGP bass, so without your PGP key it cannot really be unencrypted. As for a physical authenticator, I use a flipper zero.

>SMS is insecure
I don't care, just let me use passwords without authentication. Nobody is going to hack into my utility accounts to pay my bills for me.

This. It's pretty comfy I didn't know keepass could do it till recently, I have no reason to avoid 2fa now unless it's the phone number kind
If it's topt it's is an extra 3 clicks after putting my password in but still fine

i store the keys in plaintext and use oathtool in a script with dmenu to get the otp for whatever service into my clipboard. i will never take 2fa seriously, and i hate when it is forced down my throat.
