I'm stuck on a psych ward with a laptop and I have pretty much no compsci knowledge. What are some cool things I can do to get the ball rolling? I've always been more of a literary person, but lately I think /g/-related stuff is kinda based.

That's unusual. Normally it takes months or years of compsci studies for people to realize how bleak the job market is. Honestly anon, don't study it unless you have a genuine interest and only intend for it to be a hobby. With AI and an army of low wage Indian workers, the job market is completely saturated. Programmers are being fired by the thousands right now. Microsoft just laid off 9000. You legitimately can make more at McDonalds than doing entry level compsci stuff.
