Censorship is the tip of the iceberg, lack of picture input, fixed vertical aspect ratio and the same 480 characters limit as BIC's image generator are what really make it completely useless. And yeah, Sora itself is kind of dated.

4o's generation is going to be similar, if the same limitations will keep applying. img2img and good understanding of very long prompts are two major selling points of this model over dalle3. Remove those and what's even the point? Like the /co/ anon said, it's likely that they intend to implement aspect ratio selection, at least, but that's really the bare minimum and it's not been done with the video generator yet, despite the interface similarly implying that it's something they probably plan to do.

It makes one wonder whether the people who "code" these features for BIC actually use them.

That was just my personal preference, you can easily generate it with a white background too. Actually, you can even make it with a transparent background, but it's possible that it will mess up some minor things (and those tend to get more noticeable with a transparent background, like missing pieces in the veil between the hair strands).

One thing to keep in mind is that ChatGPT/Sora/Copilot (they all use the same model) usually generate stuff with too reddish tones (grayscale pictures are an exception), I personally try to fix that in Photoshop using levels (0.9 red, 1.2 blue).

Anyway this stuff is easy, just make an account (or two, three, four, etc.) and have fun. Copilot is free (if slightly less capable: no multiple references, possibly somewhat lower quality, more filtered than Sora), if you don't want to deal with multiple accounts (or paying Altman) while learning how to use it. Main issue with this thing is that it's slow as fuck. I wish Sora gave browser notifications when the generation is ready.

Yep, references to pictures featuring people was allowed immediately after they started implementing 4o in place of de3. No idea whether they didn't consider that 4o can sometimes benefit from referencing multiple pictures or they consciously decided against it, though. Of course it's still much better than the censorship circle they applied over people's faces before, it used to make their implementation of GPT-4 useless in a funny way when you asked to describe pictures in order to write a txt2img prompt.

Again about that account where Sora asks me to pick 2 pics out of 4, I've got the strong impression that results tend to be more varied with that one, this is the same "semi-realistic anime aesthetics" of the previous pics. It got much more realistic and painterly than usual (other 2 results were more anime-like, but they were messed up in some details, this looks like what I wanted, but not exactly in the style I wanted).

Yes, the reluctance to use real source images has been a limitation for some time. What I'm finding now, however, is that the kinds of images I've been generating for the last 2-3 months are suddenly flagging the content moderation filters after the generation step. I'm disappointed since only Sora was good at generating material for my particular tastes. We'll see if this changes.

For what it's worth, I'm finding that style transfers still get through, somewhat. If I generate in anime or painting style first, then do a "realistic shot on iphone" remix, the policy doesn't get tripped nearly as often. You may need to tune the prompts to resolve certain details to your liking.
