I use Kubuntu because I'm used to debian-isms like apt and I don't see any benefit in learning another set of commands.
I think fedora is great but I fucking hate KDE and have had nothing but experiences with it

I think their users are the most likely to try to popularize their OS either via spam or obsessively talking about it and how great it is.
