This has always been the case with piracy. You are relying on someone else to share what they bought with you. Except when it's on streaming but that wasn't relevant 20 years ago and we can get anything we want from that now so it isn't relevant to this conversation either. At first I had no money so I recruited a bunch of people who were buying records and started a scene group. Then I spent a bunch of my own money on music and shared it. Things are more accessible now but that kinda kills the community aspect which makes it harder for like minded people to gather and share what is actually rare. No. Because if you joined 15 years ago and reached 5Gb of uploaded after a year you'll be granted inactivity immunity. it doesn't matter that you haven't logged in in 50 years. Private tracker accounts are a right for those who joined early on, regardless of contribution or activity, but for new users it is a privilege. You have 15+ year old accounts that have been inactive for years now but that's fine. New people however can go fuck themselves because, well... it's their fault for being late to the party. It doesn't matter how active these users would have been. They would rather lock down the tracker and stop recruiting new, active users and let old, inactive users on the site. It's such a bullshit system. You see these Redditors constantly flaming about inactivity pruning but that's just how it should be. heck, they should prune WAY more inactive accounts. Sometimes, the best solution is to just throw away everything and start from scratch, to go back to the roots and build some other parallel network, which is kept hidden and can be accessed only if you have the required technical knowledge.
Information about it should be spread only through the word of mouth, or through other private communities.
However, building one such network is way more harder than just making a tracker from scratch, and you need way more skilled and dedicated people for it to become a reality.
This doesn't mean you don't have to try, but you have to be aware it involves way more effort and dedication, to plan how to make it better, more resilient and to prevent it from becoming what the internet became today.

I figured out how the Chinese create the timeline picture of all their trackers. It's with Pt-Plugin-Plus browser extension. Well, it stopped being supported ever since Chrome shifted to manifest v3, but I found the updated extension called PT Depiler. I installed it and auto imported some sites, but not every site has auto-import and I don't know how to manually add those sites. Anyway I made my incomplete timeline picture. It'll come in handy when inviters ask for it. Welp I trust the owner of the extension doesn't hack my accounts, otherwise I'm cooked.

What the other users haven't told you yet, they were kinda pointing you at it, is that the tracker sends you the other peers IP addresses and ports. To make an attack like this work you would need to scrape this information and make your own tracker to return it. I have seen this happen before when I was a member of deepbassnine. Some jeet made a public site that was scraping peers from multiple torrent sites. I reported it to the admins and it took them awhile to fix the problem.

I have a question lads. I like torrenting stuff and I like seeding, but sometimes the files I download have a lot of extra bullshit, I'll torrent a movie file for example, that has a bunch of subtitle and language packs, but I only want to keep a few of them, i.e the torrent will have english, spanish, italian, russian subtitles/tracks, and I only want to have the english/spanish subs/tracks on my machine, but I also want to keep seeding.

Is it possible to only seed portions of a file, and how would that work? If I just edit the file to delete or change shit that changes the file how does a torrent client handle that? Can I make it work where I still seed the original pieces of data but not the stuff that I changed/deleted/added?

Assuming you're using qbittorrent you can go to the 'Content' tab and uncheck the pieces you don't want. You can then safely delete those files.

It's different because private trackers (should) take their opsec more seriously. They also need to buy proxies, a domain from a privacy respecting registrar (those are obviously more expensive) and other shit like IRC server. Adding all of that together will give you a pretty big number. You can always look around, check some low seeded torrents, select one that looks interesting and download it, this way you can find new and interesting stuff you didn't even know about that might need more love. Seeding torrents with many seeders doesn't help a lot, seeding those with few seeders does.

If the torrent is immediately freeleeched and auto-added so you're in the swarm from the zeroth second, maybe. Otherwise you'll only get like 20kb/s upload for not even the whole duration of the freeleech regardless of what your connection is capable of because of how many seeders there are.
