Aside from this, you've got it spot-on. I recently switched to a dumbphone and it's just so much easier. All you need to do is make calls, send & receive text messages and mayyyybe a camera. Bro fist and thumbs-up, my fellow dumbphone-enjoying sophisticate. :)

Smartphone + google voice is my go to. Don't need a SIM/plan, costs me zero dollars. Everywhere has wi-fi, so it doesn't matter that I can't use cell. Just need to keep downloaded maps up to date before I leave the house.
