This is in preparation for the new EU age verification thing that was supposed to have a partial soft launch at the start of this month, and made mandatory across the entire internet next year
The initial launch doesn't really seem to have happened though. There was supposed to be a temporary interim app for verification in select regions but I'm not sure if it actually launched anywhere. The real EU-wide app is still coming next year.
