I think using older styles is fine. The whole point of ricing is to express your personality. There's just something gross to me about larping as another OS or using outdated software. The classic Redmond style says "I'm a simple person", on Linux you should use the Raleigh style with Openbox.
Linux is it's own system. If you want a good user experience you should tailor your set up with the Linux OS in mind. If you want to use Windows then use Windows.
