Is there an adapter that would allow me to connect a Blu-Ray player to a CRT TV with component or the tech is not compitable? I never own anything other than CRTs.

you can buy something like an hdfury for that. expensive though, alternatively hypothetically you could buy an hdmi splitter that strips the hdcp and then an hdmi to component adapter to achieve the same thing at a lower price.

you would probably be better off just getting a old bluray player with analog output instead of a hdmi to component adapter

The PS3 has a multi out that has component on it. It's the same one that the PS2 used.

if you use the component connections , the resolution will be limited to 480p depending on the model, some allow up to 1080i, but only really old players. 1080p isnt possible without an hdcp stripper. so a phat ps3 is probably a decent option for op if hes using a crt tv.
