get best of both worlds, super clean power-efficient ChromeOS with android apps plus linux programs.

only chromebooks with good on board audio are the pixelbook (which is likely getting a reboot next year) the new lenovo, and the 16" acer one

I bought one on a whim a few years ago and after going back to a windows/Linux PC, I immediately started missing it.

Battery life was already great even with Intel 10th gen, now they're starting to get ARM shit, so they'll prolly get 24h battery life soon

Android phone + Chromebook felt so comfy. Because I don't game or need a high end graphics card for anything serious and just browse the Internet and type documents, I found it to be more than performant

Took me like 3 months to stop being overly uncomfortable about the concept of being heavily spied on though

I used chromeos for a while and it's fine. Having a linux terminal gave me everything I needed outside a browser. It's a perfectly reasonable solution for light users. All of the trash ewaste chromebooks gave it a bad name.

ChromeOS is slated to get injected with a buncha Android crap in the kernel to make it work more seamlessly with apps and whatnot

seems interesting, if they made more powerful machines and committed to building out the OS

as a dutiful slave, I'd love to have a unified Apple-like Android ecosystem, because it's simpler and I get mad when I have different OS's and different brands, with different aesthetics and shit

you can put linux on most of them with a few extra steps, but not worth it since ChromeOS is hyper optimized to each model and makes the machines feel way faster than they'd ever be on some random linux distro
