It matters but it requires displayport and displayport cables all suck you and you can only go up to like 1.5 metres in cable length before it has issues. Ive bought certified cables on amazon that ive had to return because they have artifacting the chinese just lie

I bought a 4k 60hz fps display last christmas for web dev. Being able to view the site at 1920 x 1080 fullscreen and the code (JS and CSS on SEPERATE windows) at the same time was a godsend upgrade from my old 1080p where I had to switch windows and tabs all the time.

>240hz
I don't know about 240hz, but my 1080p monitor is a 165hz and it's good for gaming. Very noticeable difference to 60hz

Depends of the size of your graphic card. 5080 is fine on a 120-144Hz display and frame gen sucks to use anyway.

It's so smooth... I remember the day after I bought my PG32UCDM arriving at work and staring at the stuttery, choppy mess that was my workstation monitors thinking they were broken. Then I remembered they were only 60Hz LCDs. I legit thought they were fucked up and dying for a little while.

OLED does have good response times, but real OLED monitor that can do HDR 1000 cost arm and leg and it still will suffer from OLED issues like burn-in and VRR flickering

oled is pretty good
4K at 32" is a meme. 5120x2880 at 27" with 200% scale is where it gets really good. But there aren't any OLED 2880p 120hz options in the market yet.

Even at 240hz it's not like a CRT. You need BFI to make it look like a CRT.

If they are like the older models they lag when you feed them 4:3 content and have a mild amount of bloat.

Matters a decent amount. I drive 165hz and a laptop with 240 I saw recently was noticeable enough that I think it is worth the premium.

27" would be better for typical desk viewing distance. OLED has the best image quality but it's not without several "minor" problems: VRR flicker, full-screen brightness limiting and of course the ever-present burn-in which WILL happen if you use it a lot, especially for work (like 8h+ a day) in a desktop OS.

Has to do with distance between the viewer and current levels of pixel density. Bigger and you notice individual pixels, smaller and your screen is just too small relative to your cone of vision. 27 may not be mathematically perfect so to say but the industry has been using 27 for reasons. Also one of those reasons is the partitioning of the mother glass when they make the panels but that's a different topic.

I recently got an OLED and I haven't had any of the issues you've mentioned. Granted I haven't had it long. Strange however that the one major issue I have had you seem not to have had, which is reflectivity. I wasn't aware of this issue before I bought it. I don't get deep inky blacks or perfect contrast until like 10pm. Even with the blinds closed, the ambient light coming through is enough to illuminate the light colored wall behind me. Even in pitch black, the light from the bright parts of the screen is enough to illuminate the area enough to raise the black levels for the darker parts. I've had to tape up a black sheet behind me, and play wearing a long sleeve black sweater, to get the most out of it, and even then my face still reflects.

Oled is nice but suffers burn-in. You can see this in phones with oled screens after a number of years. It'll most usually be your keyboard UI. You'll see a "shadow" of it over your entire screen because it's the thing that's shown mot of the time.

You don't need 240hz.144hz is the max (which is also overkill unless you're competitive gaming).

120hz is really the max I can tell a difference.

4k is nicer on bigger monitors like 32".

Get good HDR! The difference between HDR and my non-HDR is like night and day. And I have lower quality HDR (there are levels to them, google).

>120hz is really the max I can tell a difference.
I can definitely see a difference between 120 and 240 but it is not a difference I care about. For single player vidya, 120 is absolutely more than enough, seems perfectly smooth. Even 60-90fps is fine for a lot of games, I notice a difference coming out of a 240fps game for about 45 seconds before I become accustomed and forget to care.

The difference between 120hz and 240hz is night and day, stop lying.
120hz still has motion blurring even on an OLED, while 240hz is almost CRT levels of motion clarity.

Wrong.
Crt is 1ms. Aka 1000fps. As a monitor anyways. Your 240p vhs and snes tapes would be useless above 240fps.
Ps2 xbox 480p=480fps. Xbox 360 and dvds 720p 720fps.
