It's actually miraculous that a bunch of random projects done by people, many of whom receive zero compensation for their contribution, that largely would despise each other if they had met under any other context can be stapled together to form a functioning desktop operating system with a rather wide range of hardware compatibility.
Sure, it's got massive flaws, but the fact that it boots at all is insane.
